Commercial Carpentry students receive actual construction experience on various structures and buildings. Major skills to be mastered include hand and power tool use, building foundations, floor and roof framing, wall construction, electrical wiring, and interior and exterior finishing. The curriculum also includes the proper use of building materials, reading blueprints, and using surveying instruments. Career opportunities include construction laborer, apprenticeship carpenter, concrete worker, and all construction related occupations. Students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials and college credit.
