Program Overview:
This program is a two-year endeavor that provides students with the opportunity to earn the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ while attending BHCC. The CDA is a widely recognized credential that guides early childcare professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. Obtaining a CDA is an important accomplishment. This credential will assist in securing employment or earning credit hours at most colleges and universities. Early Childhood Education students spend part of their week in local day cares, preschools, and kindergarten through third grade classes learning the skills necessary to meet the requirements of a CDA credential. This program also provides the foundation to pursue a teaching license through higher education. Along with the CDA credential, students have the opportunity to earn college credit.
